(1) Can control boundary fluxes/heads (ie,constant head ponding, evaporation at the top boundary, free drainage and capillary rise at the bottom boundary) flexibly and accurately;
(2) Can study infiltration characteristic of multiple soil layers when subjected to different hydraulic boundary conditions;
(3) Can speed up the measurements of two hydraulic properties including stress-dependent permeability functions (SDPFs) and stressdependent soil-water characteristic curves (SDSWCCs), using transient method;
(4) Can apply a one-dimensional (1D) vertical stress, ie, K0 stress condition;
