We hope that your current Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA) system has been serving you well in your foundation testing practice.
 We have good news! Pile Dynamics has launched the 8th generation of the PDA, calling it PDA-8G. The PDA-8G is the culmination of a complete redesign effort of hardware and software, and includes a newly released version of CAPWAP®.
The PDA-8G is thin (68 mm, less than half of the PAX), light and ergonomic. All its data acquisition channels are universal: you may connect any combination of up to 8 combined strain transducers and accelerometers (i.e. 2 accelerometers and 6 strain transducers and mix piezoelectric (PE) and piezoresistive (PR) accelerometers if you so desire). This is attractive for tests of large drilled/cast-in-place piles. All channels are compatible with traditional and wireless sensors. PDI sensors are now smart, and all PDA-8G channels and wireless transmitter channels are compatible with smart sensors (there is no need to input sensor calibration). Data may be collected at 120 blows per minute (BPM) making it easier to test piles being driven by hydraulic hammers with high blow rates.
The PDA software is now called PDA-S, and is identical when running on the PDA-8G and on your personal computer, so you only need to learn one program. The 8G responds to gesture controls like swiping and pinch-to-zoom, making for a more intuitive interface. PDA-S includes extensive data input help and output customization. It also makes it simple to use the iCAP® capacity calculation method (which is based on CAPWAP® signal matching software) in addition to the CASE method. It calculates more than 230 quantities and reports any number of them along with displaying up to three graphs in real time.
As with the PAX, the 8G is SiteLink® - ready. SiteLink technology transmits PDA test data via the Internet to an engineer located elsewhere who follows the test in real time. SiteLink gives the test engineer the option of testing remotely and thus saving travel time and expense.
